Lesson # 10: From the MRT

My last post before going to Cebu from April 3-12!😀

Pwedeng wag manulak?!

I’m sure most of us have tried riding the MRT/LRT; some even do it on a daily basis, and I’m sure all of us have complained of how stressful the experience is especially during rush hour.

You go in all dressed up and you leave the train all messed up and smelling like you’ve jogged around for a day already. Not to mention you feel violated because of that person breathing down your neck for the whole frickin trip.

Here in the Philippines, When the train arrives, it’s every man for himself.

It’s like we have a hard time waiting, and we have an even harder time staying sane and disciplined throughout the wait. We push and shove and care less for the people around us once the train comes to a screeching halt (or even before it does).

Parang gusto kong sumigaw ng HOY, RELAKS LANG KAYO! MAKAKASAKAY DIN KAYO!

If doing that would instill discipline and create a habit of patiently waiting in line, then I’m all for it.

(I guess just like the Rides in EK, you enter through one door and exit through another. Para hindi magulo!)

Also, someone should educate people about basic public transpo etiquette:

4. KUNG HINDI NA KASYA, SA SUSUNOD NA TREN NA LANG.

5. LET THE WOMEN AND OLD PEOPLE SIT DOWN. Konting courtesy naman dyan.

While the government also probably needs to increase the number of trains, the problem wouldn’t be solved. The discipline has yet to be instilled. More trains would lead to more pushing and shoving and days being ruined over and over again.

I hope something can be done about this. I’ll gladly help out.
